I am stoked! I got home from work to find a great little present from Google. They sent me one of their free Chrome laptops. First, if you haven’t asked for one, go to http://Google.com/ChromeOS to apply now. It took less than a week from the day I applied to my receipt of the “ptototype”. They never emailed to let me know it was coming. It just showed up.
In case you don’t know, Google’s point is that we can now begin to live in the “cloud”. This little laptop is a browser with an app store. The challenge is to do everything we do online. No programs on the local drive and no real data storage. It’s all in the ether. I plan to try to use this as my primary pc to find the shortcomings of their theory. Keep coming back to check my progress!
